Background and Purpose of the Job:

The primary purpose of the Associate Customer Business Manager (ACBM) role is to develop business relationships with our Kroger partners while driving mutual, profitable sales growth for the Unilever Nutrition Business Unit.  The Kroger Nutrition ACBM is responsible for building a joint business plan with Kroger that will hit volume growth goals for the Hispanic and Soup categories while keeping investments on plan.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do:

  • Executing the Sales Plan - Work with Kroger contacts to build, update, review and execute a collaborative plan including negotiation and implementation of pricing, promotions, innovation, shelf placement, shopper marketing, etc.
  • Strategy Development - Analyze information and work closely with other Unilever colleagues (HQ + local) to develop business strategies to win at Kroger while executing Unilever brand strategies.
  • Financial Management – Manage full Holistic Customer Investment to drive effective and efficient return on investment including post promotion evaluation, managing contracts with Kroger, overseeing claims process with the support of the deduction analyst, and always ensuring Unilever audit compliance.
  • Forecasting Management –   Support weekly and monthly reporting for category volume calls, inventory analysis and POS projections. Work with Unilever and Kroger supply chain contacts to optimize forecast accuracy, maintain excellent customer service (Fill rates, On-time and In-Stocks) and best in market inventory & OSA levels.
  • Portfolio Management - The ACBM will be heavily involved in the seasonal and annual Category review process that includes selling in Unilever innovation and influencing product assortment decisions, shelf placements, store counts and macro space strategies.
  • Team Management – The ACBM will work closely with Kroger category contacts and internally with other Unilever cross functional contacts (Category Strategy & Planning, Business Development, Marketing, Shopper Marketing, Category Management, Supply Chain, and our Direct Retail Team) to execute the joint business plan (assortment, price & promotion, inventory, and in-store executions)

What You’ll Need To Succeed:

  • Must have a growth mindset and a passion for winning.
  • Prior account management experience in the CPG industry is preferred.
  • Trade Marketing and Category Management experience is a plus.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to effectively relate with multiple levels of management, internally and externally.
  • Must be a strategic thinker that works effectively in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment.
  • Must have strong relationship building and project management skills.
  • Must have experience in mining insights and leveraging them to drive growth.
  • Must be fully proficient with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must have Working knowledge of POS Reporting systems (Nielsen, IRI, Customer-Specific) and Sales Planning Systems.
  • An undergraduate degree is required.
