We are looking for a Category Operations Manager for Unilever Australia.
The Category & Channel team is responsible for developing and delivering category growth for the Home, Beauty Personal Care (HBPC) business. Through fully integrated, shopper, customer and channel insights, category growth platforms are built to be deployed across the different Customers and Channels. The Category Operations Manager actively contributes to the overall P&L delivery of the category via driving key operational process to ensure we can deliver to all customer and channel priorities and objectives.
The nature of work for Category Operations Manager is Flexible and as such the category focus and working priorities will change depending on business priorities and needs. This will be defined by the Head of Channel & Category Development (CCD) and CCD Leads on a regular basis – with key focuses shifting between the 2 key responsibilities below and across categories.
Role Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Category Operations Manager are in two key areas, with support of the CCD lead:
Operational Lead for Categories
Lead the ARM & DRM meetings within S&OP – drive the business planning rhythm as well as an accurate and reliable category forecast.
Working with Customer Managers and Country Category Business Teams (CCBT) Finance collate gap close activities as defined by the CCD Lead.
Own & Deliver the short term category forecast – responsible for delivering what we say we will deliver via ARM process and DRM alignment.
Optimise TTS investment (NRM Levers 4&5) to drive efficiency by championing the Promotional Event Analytics (PEA) tool
Working with the brand lead, input and shape NPD business case development with key category and customer metrics & inputs.
Lead Category Analytics
Ability to analyse market (scan) and shopper data to build insights to support decision making and build customer strategies and stories
Build category knowledge and expertise within CCD and across the business by generating standardised category market (scan) data reporting and analysis (Monthly cadence)
Support the CCD Lead with customer and category insights from standardised reporting to shape category expertise or range review delivery
Collaborate with other Category Operations Managers and CCD Leads to build and unlock new reporting or tools to streamline processes and improve operational business efficiency.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Accountable for the Forecast delivery and accuracy in defined category
Delivery of accurate Business Case deployment for all customers and channels
Optimise TTS% & ROI for the category via NRM level 4 & 5 analysis and recommendations
Support the CCD Leads delivery of category growth plans with analytical reporting and insights
STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT
Category and Channel Leads, Customer Account Managers; Demand & Supply Chain Planners, Finance Business Partners, Consumer Insights Manager,
Does this sound like You
Experience in Business, preferably cross-functional with Customer facing and Category experience with a proven track record
FMCG or similar Retail industry experience.
Previous experience with data analytics and reporting
Strong commercial skills and ability to understand all elements of the P&L
Planning experience or strong analytical mindset
Ability to collaborate with a wide range of cross-functional teams including customer, supply chain, brand and finance.
