Reporting to the site SHE Manager, this position is responsible for driving current and future manufacturing performance in the areas of Safety Compliance, Safety Culture, Training, and Cost, using World Class Manufacturing operating framework. This position will require said candidate to focus on incident management, stakeholder management, and follow up. They will have to leverage and gain trust of multiple stakeholders to leverage the Safety Pillar in WCM performance and execution.

Core Responsibilities
- Perform regular safety walks on night shift. Provide guidance and support to promote safe behaviors and prevent unsafe conditions.
- Support Safety KPI tracking in the Digital Platforms and Excel. Execute Follow up and close out of Safety Open items where needed.
- Track and investigate trends in safety and suggest target areas for improvement.
- Lead SHE investigations for incidents that occur between the hours of 6pm and 6am. Evaluate causal factors, conduct root cause analysis, and suggest both corrective and preventative actions. Effectively and adamantly ensure action completion.
- Evaluate the accuracy and quality of the SEWO details. Provide feedback where there are opportunities for improvement.
- Respond to safety related F-Tags submitted between the hours of 6pm and 6am. Coordinate with day shift SHE team to ensure effective completion of F-Tags
- Assist with proper case management of work-related injuries or illness, which includes going to the emergency room with persons who report work-related injuries or illnesses when the SHE Manager is unavailable.
- Provide First Aid, CPR, AED and other crises response upon proper training
- Identify gaps in safety processes on night shift and lead improvement initiatives with all appropriate teams.
- Champion the development of a healthy safety culture on night shift which ultimately leads to the reduction of workplace injuries, illnesses, and near misses.
- Participate in loss tree development and projects. Required to participate and lead Kaizan projects.
- Improve SHE training by creating training plans tailored to the specific needs of night shift employees.
- Regularly audit, review, and update safety programs to ensure compliance with local and federal regulations and consistency with Unilever expectations and initiatives.
- Own the development, implementation, and maintenance of Safety Programs. IE: LOTO, Safety Training, Chemical Training, Risk Assessments, Permitted Work, PSM, etc.
- Champion UMS initiatives on night shift. Develop and complete Risk Assessments as assigned.
- Assist the identification, evaluation, and resolution of issues impacting employee and contractor safety, including the completion of routine site inspections.
- Manage and follow up on corrective actions from both Internal and External Audits.
- Follow all company policies and procedures. Set a good example and show integrity.
- Coordinate continuous improvement activities in safety with other departments
- Complete additional duties designated by department supervisor

- Technical – As a leader this position is required to maintain a Working Knowledge of the technical skills required to Operate, Maintain, Improve and Repair equipment. This will assist with their responsibilities as investigator and allow the person to make better decisions in long term actions.
- Safety - Utilize appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products and equipment to ensure a safe working environment for the whole team.
- Environment – Reduce costs due to waste and minimize impact to health, safety and the environment through working to eliminate waste and through the correct management of waste and hazardous materials.
- Quality - Ensure that all aspects of Quality within the area of responsibility are in accordance with local Quality procedures to protect and promote the brand and product.
- Leadership - Promote the development of a highly effective team through strong communication, leading by example whilst keeping focused on goals and targets. Great teams and great leaders will achieve superior performance.
- Administration – Able to effectively use Microsoft resources to analyze data and build reports.
- Continuous Improvement - Use performance measures to identify and prioritize losses in production area. Apply rigorous Cost Deployment and the Zero loss concept to eliminate losses. Lead the team with Focused Improvements.
- Problem Solving - Has the ability to identify, prioritize and address problems using appropriate tools and techniques that eliminate recurrence
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Essential
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Minimum two years’ experience in manufacturing. Project management and continuous improvement experience highly desired.
- Strong analytical skills; ability to translate data into action and follow-through
- Excellent math, written and verbal communication skills
- Computer proficiency, esp. Excel, Word, SAP,
- Flexible, motivated individual with the ability to adapt quickly and effectively.
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible Worker – Primarily Night shift. However, must be prepared to flex schedule if the SHE team needs more support on other shifts or weekends. Must be a flexible and agile worker to meet wider leadership duties.

- Bachelors degree preferred
- Extensive understanding of sanitation principles, microbiology and quality assurance policies.

Work Level 1B:
Pay: The pay range for this position is $67,000 to $100,500. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
