CATEGORY/FUNCTION INTRODUCTION

Logistics is one of the major functions in supply chain that its primary purpose is to plan, execute and control the flow of materials from origin to production and sales by ensuring timely delivery with optimal cost.

JOB PURPOSE

Unilever is the place where you can bring your purpose to life with the work that you do – creating a better business and a better world.  The role is to oversee and optimize the flow of materials and finished goods with in a company’s supply chain. This involves managing transportation, warehousing, inventory, and order fulfilment to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective delivery of orders.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

  • Planning and managing logistics, warehouse, transportation and delivery of imported goods.
  • Direct, optimize and coordinate full customs clearance cycle for the assigned category of materials.
  • Aligning and negotiating with supplier’s and manufacturers of import materials and finished goods.
  • Ensure on time availability of all imported materials and Finished Goods
  • Strategically plan and manage the End to End logistics, warehouse (in terms of space availability and location) and transportation.
  • Monitor shipments of all imported materials and act when necessary to ensure timely arrival of material on site, thereby avoiding disruption to production plans
  • Address any issues related to delayed documentation & shipping line bookings
  • Co-ordinate with Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) to always ensure availability of all imported raw materials and finished goods
  • Liaise with suppliers on rejected materials or short shipped consignments
  • Monitor actual clearance lead time against targets
  • Analyse data to assess performance and implement improvements using power BI
  • Work on reduction of demurrage and storage of shipments at port
  • Coordinate and conduct monthly and quarterly Key Performance Indicators (KPI) review of LSPs
  • Resolve any problems or complaints arising out of the review of KPIs from LSPs
  • Review and approve extra charge payment request of LSPs against the actual lead time taken to deliver every container
  • Ensure on time vendor payment and sign quarterly Nil certificates
  • Comply with laws and regulations of the country and follow up if there are new or amended regulations introduced to the market
  • Lead weekly operational meetings with LSPs and take minutes of actions for further follow up
  • Ensure all cash payment orders required for duty payment are provided to LSPs on time
  • Ensure safety procedure and processes are being followed up by transporters
  • Initiate and engage in transporters audit
  • Follow up daily activities of LSPs & implant resources
  • Review and summarize daily shipments tracker provided by the LSP

Experiences & Qualifications

  • A minimum of Bachelors degree in Logistics or any business fields.
  • 4 years and above work experience.
