The DMC team integrates Digital Marketing, Media, Retail Media, e-Commerce and Shopper Marketing, seeking to bring the best consumer experiences for our brands in Home Care. Our key mission is to be Unilever’s fully integrated growth driving acceleration engine that drives our brands to be unmissable through planning and delivery of world class Digital Marketing, Media, Digital Commerce and Shopper Marketing.
JOB PURPOSE
The Holistic Media Specialist supports the media strategy for traditional, digital, and retail media for our 5 brands: Persil, Cif, Domestos, Comfort, and Surf. You will represent the best of the media landscape in the UK and be motivated by the ever-growing digital and retail media opportunities with a large budget to influence. The role involves executing strategy, optimising and managing campaigns, and driving performance through data-driven decisions.
This is a key role in the DMC team, and you will work closely with the DMC, brand teams, and agency/media partners to ensure success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Media Strategy Execution:
- Implement the holistic media strategy covering traditional, digital and retail media
- Seek continual improvements to help grow the media strategy alongside the company’s ambition for social-first
- Be the key day-to-day point of contact for our media agency
Retail Media Strategy Execution:
- Execute Always-On strategies against key Retail Media KPIs
- Implement ASIN prioritisation strategies for efficient budget allocation
Campaign Management:
- Represent media team in campaign standups, project managing campaign delivery in collaboration with Digital Marketing specialist and Brand Managers
- Optimise Media campaigns utilising reporting tools
- Optimise Retail Media campaigns across Criteo, Citrus, off-site Retailer campaigns and Amazon Media to meet KPIs
- Utilise automation tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency
Data-Driven Insights:
- Use advanced analytics including Dunnhumby Sphere, PacVue, AMC to measure campaign performance, provide actionable insights and segment audiences
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal DMC, Retail, Marketing, and Brand teams for strategic alignment and present key results back to senior stakeholders
Innovation and Testing:
- Be the expert on Media, Staying on top of Retail Media trends and pilot new ad formats
- Implement media innovation at key retail events (e.g., Prime Day, Black Friday)
Budget Management:
- Report ROI and performance metrics to the business

Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven expertise in managing Media or Retail Media advertising campaigns
- In-depth knowledge and passion for Retail Media trends and emerging capabilities
- Proficiency with Amazon Media tools and platforms (e.g., Pacvue, AMC)
- Strong analytical skills with a proven track record in data-driven decision-making
- Exceptional communication and relationship building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Preferred experience in managing agency relationships
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop effective briefs for both internal and external teams
- Flexible pro-active mindset to work with multiple brands, priorities and stakeholders
- Strong business acumen and commercial awareness, with the ability to identify new opportunities and drive revenue growth

Location
In June 2020 we announced our plan to consolidate a number of Unilever’s offices across the South East of England into a new Unilever campus in Kingston-upon-Thames in or around early 2025. However, on the 08 August 2024 we announced to our existing staff our proposal to retain our central Head Office in London, 100 Victoria Embankment (“100VE”) until our lease expires in 2027. As a result of this new proposal, we will be consulting with our existing staff, and new joiners who join during this period of consultation at 100VE, on the proposal made in August 2024. During consultation we will clarify the future location of each team and function. This means your role will either be based in 100VE until 2027 or in Kingston-Upon-Thames from early 2025. As we are yet to commence consultation on the proposal you agree, until such a time when consultation has concluded, your normal place of work as set out in the enclosed Statement of Terms & Conditions will be 100VE. You agree that on the conclusion of the consultation your place of work will be 100VE or 100VE until early 2025 and then Kingston-upon-Thames ("the locations") and you will be notified of which of the locations will be your place of work after that consultation ends.

Recruitment Fraud
Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money.In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
How is Unilever tackling this?
Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
