FUNCTION AND SERVICE LINE INTRODUCTION

UniOps Data Foundation plays a vital role in powering Unilever to win. It is the delivery engine that enables our company to run every day.

We do this by providing data, technology and processes delivering differentiated experiences for our key stakeholders. This enables the organisation to grow and generate much needed Fuel for Growth.

Data Foundation Commercial XOps is one of the UniOps service lines whose focus area is to fundamentally change how we deliver business information at Unilever and is primarily driven to turn complexity to simplicity to grow the business with smarter decisions. At Data Foundation Commercial XOps, we create information intelligence solutions which enable our customers to taste success by ensuring long term sustainable growth and profitability.

The Data Foundation XOps Hub located in Bangalore is the engine behind the ambition and the team comprising of more than 200 Data Experts is entrusted to deliver data & analytics at scale through a team of specialists who are accountable for delivering standard report packs, interactive reports with enhanced visualizations and insights & analytics on data. The services from this team are consumed by the leadership teams of Unilever and hence demands the highest levels of rigor and initiative.

We are looking at enthusiastic and bright candidates to become a part of this team and work closely with our partners and stakeholders to deliver superior analytical capabilities and enable quicker & smarter business decisions while ensuring a delightful user experience across the enterprise.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Data Foundation Commercial XOps team (which manages Finance Reports and Products Delivery) within Uniops is responsible for partnering with the Global / BG-BU Performance Management and Global Consumer Market Insight team to ensure the delivery of reports that enable tracking of Unilever performance for financial and market share KPIs. The reporting portfolio broadly covers:

  • Monthly reporting for measuring and analysing the performance of the Unilever OKR’s against the target.

  • Identify key drivers of change and provide actionable insights.

  • Reporting with GCAD standards and GPM/CMI guidelines

  • Catering to Adhoc requirements of Unilever Leadership Teams

  • Ability to play role of techno functional consultant with data science and finance knowledge.

The XOps team churns out business performance data in the form of reports, on screen dashboards, excel files etc. from trusted data sources (I.e GMI/Ifinance). The Data is made available to leaders in Global CMI, GPM team and BG functions. The overall purpose is to provide high impact reports with good visualization which can be readily consumed by the Global CMI and GPM teams for strategy and decision making. 

​The role gives unique opportunity to develop subject matter expertise in the end-to-end reporting process of Finance and Market Competitiveness Reporting as well as to improve engagement and collaborative skills. 

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

  • Develop subject matter expertise by understanding the Finance and Market reporting processes and systems

  • Ability to understand data and data processing techniques.

  • Technical expertise in Azure or any relevant cloud service, Statistical modelling, Data science, MLOps.

  • Ability to Independently review code developed by vendor partners.

  • Experience in developing ML, AI models, preferably Gen AI skillset.

  • Design build automation pipelines.

  • Cross functional collaboration.

  • Service creation, Service management with understanding of ITIL process.

  • Accountable for the delivery of the reports ensuring timeliness and accuracy of data for internal and external reporting

  • Ensure service delivery adhering to the SLA.

  • Lead calls independently with stakeholders and clearly articulate the observations / variance analysis.

  • Evaluate existing business reporting and find opportunities for improvements that enable stakeholders to make impactful data-backed decisions

  • Govern and execute the GRRL governance and access management process.

  • Lead and motivate team members to deliver their full potential

  • Being able to identify, troubleshoot (RCA), problem solve and resolve issues while driving simplification and continuous improvement

  • Ability to work independently and proactively, identify process improvements to achieve simplification and standardization

  • Accountable for ensuring successful transitions and own the migration of new reports into XOps team.

  • Act as an overall point of contact and be accountable​ for the assigned portfolio the finance products & performance reporting in the commercial domain.

  • Collaboration between BG, BU engagement teams, Foundation teams to develop comprehensive solutions that meet the needs of the finance & performance management.​

  • Review and timely update of SOPs and Flow charts for new/existing reports

  • Support and deliver internal/external ad-hoc business requirements

  • Contribute to the data democratisation programmes – bringing in the cross functional KPI expertise

  • Manage P&L, cost & vendor management

EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree

  • 4+ years of professional experience, including stakeholder engagement

  • English fluency (Business level) 

  • Advanced MS Office Suite

Preferred Experience 

  • Working knowledge on cross functional datasets

  • Working knowledge of Power Query, Python or other automation tools.

  • Project management
