The Beauty & Wellbeing (B&W) Europe Research & Development (R&D) team is recruiting for a B&W Hybrid Claims and Technical Insights (CTI) & Market R&D Assistant Manager based in Port Sunlight. Candidates with an interest in science and social first, a solid understanding of claims and technologies, are proactive, creative, with strong communication skills are encouraged to apply.

What can you expect from the role?

This position is focused on Hair & Skin Care. These categories are fast-moving and innovation-driven, with high consumer engagement. Our brands depend on new technology to deliver superior benefits. The successful candidate will join the EU B&W R&D team, who manage go-to-market activities for the EU portfolio across the UK, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, France, and Poland. This whole team are responsible for launching new technologies, expanding product ranges, developing innovation projects and maintaining current portfolio. Within this wider team your role will be to craft claims and deploy them externally.
In your role as B&W Hybrid CTI & Market R&D Assistant Manager you will be working in both the EU CTI team as well as the Market R&D Team.

The winning candidate will also be part of the Social First team who connect with consumers using scientific content on social media platforms. The candidate is expected to drive science engagement on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, focusing on products and technologies.
As part of Market R&D Team you will become one of the faces of R&D both internally and externally. This role entails excellent communication skills and the ability to tailor R&D content to large and small audiences including to Press, Trade, Influencers, Beauty Advisors, and be comfortable Live-Selling and on TV and podcasts. This element of the role will require travel (mostly within the UK). You will also be partnering with Brand, Regulatory, Legal and other R&D functions to support the technical delivery of Beauty & Wellbeing innovation and renovation projects to the European markets.

As a member of the EU CTI team, you will deliver consumer technical insights and claims to support European business growth. Your role will involve advocating for consumer needs by translating them into technical targets and clear, competitive claims for local markets. You will craft these claims, considering market dynamics, legislation and competition, while liaising between Local and Global R&D, Legal, Regulatory, and Marketing teams.

KEY Responsibilities:
• Reviewing claims and evaluate risks with legal and regulatory.
• Influencing and educating our customers, consumers and business partners on our products and technologies.
• Helping to create scientific content and demos to explain our superior technologies internally and externally.
• Translating technical product benefits and technologies into consumer language and present this in an engaging way to influence customer and consumer purchasing decisions.
• Developing and executing customer and consumer oriented technical communications and support PR and media activities as required.
• Monitoring local market dynamics including competitor launches and activities.
• Acting as the link between the local business and the regional/global R&D teams, sharing with them your expert knowledge of the local markets.
· Executing compliance requirements for new or relaunched products according to mandatory Unilever policies & relevant local legislation, including artwork approval and product notifications.
· Provide to the global team ideas for product demonstration which are preferred by local consumer/customer
• Consolidation of local feedback and requirement to global CTI team.
• Manage technical support in challenge cases
• Collaboration for claim generation and substantial for countries in Europe.

• Outstanding presentation skills and creativity, with an ability to translate complex science into consumer language.

• You speak English (fluent)
• You are comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• You have a good understanding of social media and currently engage in Instagram and TikTok
