Purpose of the Role:
As the MET Expert for Home Care Powders & NSD Bars, the incumbent will be responsible for driving the identification, qualification, and implementation of alternate supplier and material approval workstreams across the global portfolio. This role focuses on the Inorganics and Fine Chemicals portfolio, enabling cost and GHG efficient solutions.
The incumbent will work cross-functionally with Procurement, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless integration of new materials into manufacturing processes, while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
It is expected that, over the course of their tenure, the incumbent will be responsible for delivering on the following strategic objectives:
Identify alternate materials and suppliers that deliver cost savings and GHG reduction benefits.
Lead qualification and implementation of Alternate Supplier / Material approval workstreams for Inorganics and Fine Chemicals in Detergent Powders and NSD Bars portfolio.
Maintain accurate technical documentation including COAs, MSDS, and test reports and ensure traceability and data integrity across all material related systems.
Partner with Country R&D, Procurement, and Processing teams to ensure seamless implementation of qualified materials.
Lead root cause analysis for material related quality issues and drive corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure compliance with internal digital platforms (e.g., NASA, SAP-PLM) for material tracking, reporting, and governance.
Educational Qualifications & Experience required:
Postgraduate in Chemistry or B. Tech (Chemical Engineering) with Preferably with 5+ years of relevant work experience in industries such as FMCG, Material Science or chemical manufacturing.
Key Skills:
Strong technical knowledge of Inorganic materials and Fine Chemicals used in laundry formulations.
Hands on experience in Powder and NSD Bar formulation design, processing, and appraisal methodologies.
Proven track record of collaborating with Procurement and BUs to deliver material strategies.
Ability to engage and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders across global teams.
