POSITION SUMMARY
This role is critical in developing and maintaining the data infrastructure necessary to support the factory's digitalization efforts. Your primary responsibilities will include collaborating with different teams to gather data, understand process flows and use these insights to develop tools, automation and visualizations to drive data transparency and efficiency in our operations.
Aside from this, the Digital Factory Deploy Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and managing data pipelines and databases to enable data-driven decision-making and process optimization. This individual will ensure data integrity, security, and availability while also driving the development of insights through data analysis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Software Development: Work with other members of Digital Team and other stakeholders to design and develop software solutions and custom applications for manufacturing processes.
Deployment and Integration: Implement and integrate software solutions into existing manufacturing environment, ensuring compatibility and minimal disruption to operations.
User-Friendly Interface: Design user-friendly interfaces and dashboards for custom applications to ensure ease of use for blue-collar workers.
Data Engineering: Design and implement data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various manufacturing systems (sensors, machines, various SCADA systems, historians, API's, Machine PLC's, ERP).
Database Administration: Install, configure, and maintain database management systems such as SQL Servers, MySQL, or PostgreSQL. Monitor database performance and optimize queries for efficiency.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of software and application development, deployment procedures, and user guides.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, manufacturing engineers, and blue-collar workers, to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into software development.
Training: Provide training and support to end-users to ensure effective use of deployed software and applications.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to continually improve software solutions and applications.
Data Science (Basic to Intermediate): Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies. Develop and implement basic machine learning models for predictive maintenance or process optimization.
System and network understanding: Understanding of network infrastructure as it relates to database functionality.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
Proven experience with the use of Microsoft PowerApps and Microsoft Power BI for creating user applications and various visualizations.
Proven experience in software development and deployment, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++) and software development tools.
Proven experience in database administration and data engineering.
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems.
Experience with ETL tools and data warehousing concepts.
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Experience with industrial control systems and manufacturing data is a strong plus.
Understanding of network protocols.
