Job Summary:
The Electrical and Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical systems and automation solutions to optimize manufacturing processes. This role ensures that production equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably, while integrating automation technologies to improve productivity and reduce manual intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Engineering Duties:
- Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for manufacturing equipment.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and company specifications.
- Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical systems.
- Collaborate with project teams to plan and execute electrical installations and upgrades.
- Prepare technical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
Automation Engineering Duties:
- Design and implement automation systems (e.g., PLCs, SCADA, HMI, robotics).
- Program and debug control systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct simulations and testing of automated processes.
- Monitor and maintain automation equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement through automation.
- Provide training and support to operators and maintenance teams.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in industrial automation and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), SCADA, and HMI systems.
- Strong understanding of industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).
- Familiarity with safety standards (e.g., IEC, NFPA, OSHA).
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Certifications:
- Registered Electrical Engineer (REE)
- Certifications in automation platforms (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Automation).
- Safety certifications (e.g., Arc Flash, Lockout/Tagout procedures).
