JOB PURPOSE

The technician is a Preventative Maintenance and Focused Improvement specialist engaged to optimize the running and maintenance of equipment within the factory.
Where breakdowns occur, the multi-skilled technician will act to diagnose and troubleshoot faults and where necessary will recommend design improvements.
She/he is also intimately involved with setting the Maintenance Strategy for the respective production area.
The Technician is professionally competent and qualified to operate safely at a post apprentice level in at least two of the principal engineering disciplines; electrical & Instrumentation and Control.
She/he must be a mentally agile and advanced problem solver actively engaged in maintaining a safe work environment, which protects product quality and reduces waste and other environmental impact.
A positive contributor to the factory’s work environment and culture, the technician will act as a leading coach and mentor to the Technical Operator around the areas of engineering and Unilever Manufacturing System techniques.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
•Guarantee the expected machines and equipment reliability on production areas to meet the requested production capacity and accordingly with the budget.
• Define and plan all necessary maintenance activities according with the budget.
• Organize, update, and archive the documentation regarding maintenance of machines and equipment.
• Analysis of breakdown reasons and preventive actions consisting in modifying the maintenance plan to avoid the failure recurrence.
• Support maintenance teams during problem solving concerning machines and equipment reliability.
• Definition and implementation of SMP.
• Definition and supervision of spare parts and their availability in the warehouse.
• Collaborate to define the specific indirect materials supply for maintenance department machines and equipment.
• Continuous collaboration with Operative Maintenance on production area and with Product Engineering.
• Make sure that equipment and machines maintenance plan includes activities to meet the expected safety and quality level.
• Develop and implement new technical solutions and managerial methods to improve machines and equipment reliability and maintainability to improve equipment performance and reduce maintenance cost.
• Support Product Engineering during test on production areas.
• During the acquisition of new equipment, participate to reliability analyses (EFMEA) at design phase and try out.
• Participation in acceptance of machines and equipment (new and after modernization)
• Cooperate to define and plan the proper training for maintenance technicians.
• Contribution into continuous improvement activities regarding process and services.
• In the range of the executive autonomy take the needed decisions and make the proper actions to improve tasks regarding environment.
• Guarantee the confidentiality of the documentation.
• Make sure that maintenance third party companies operate accordingly with company’s policy

Experiences & Qualifications
Mechanical Engineering degree.
0-2 years of experience
