CATEGORY INTRODUCTION
Personal Care (PC) business in PTAB is a large, profitable, growing market and thus represents a significant growth opportunity in Unilever. We have an ambition to double incremental turnover in the next 3 years, and we are accretive to overall PC Business Group (BG). We have a diverse geographical footprint spanning markets like Pakistan, Turkey, Arabia and Bangladesh.
We see a clear opportunity to grow our core PC brands through market-making (driving penetration & consumption), premiumization (upgradation), and drive competitiveness across channels.
JOB PURPOSE

If you are looking for opportunities to develop yourself in PC R&D to sustainably drive value for our consumers, our brands, our business and the environment and working in partnership with functional teams (from engineering, procurement, quality), brand team, design functions and external partners, the Technical Project leader applies his/her formulation/process expertise to realize best practice engineering and project management & Flawless execution then this role is just for you!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Enable and Deliver the Formulation Project Program.
- Management and delivery of assigned Personal Care Deodorants category initiatives. Develop a strategic vision for the project with team members as required, agree the project goal, objectives and milestones with the Project Leader and relevant stakeholders, and translate these into a technical project plan.
- Manage projects and technical activities (Innovations, Renovation, Line Extension and /or Cost Optimized projects) as a Technical Project Leader
- Plan, execute and validate product lab & plant trials in respective Unilever & third-party plants.
- Partner with Global & local R&D, Brand & Supply Chain teams to ensure flawless execution of all aspects of the assigned projects.
- Coordinate all technical workstreams to deliver projects, including process development, formulation, regulatory updates, savings, consumer insight & claims activities.
- Develop working knowledge of consumer habits and attitudes within the region.
- Partner with quality/regulatory teams to manage quality/regulatory and supply incidents as well as 100% compliance.
- Ensure technical integrity of artwork details e.g. claims, usage instructions, caution statements, ingredients in line with regulatory requirements
- Lead Personal Care cross category initiatives.
- Manage R&D costs for the projects (bought-in and capital)
- Proactive identification of technical risks and recommendations to mitigate risks
- Supporting Portfolio development.
Consumer centric Shape, inform and participate in consumer research work. In close collaboration with our internal and external consumer insight departments and agencies.
General.
- To comply with the Unilever Code of Business Principles and all SHE and QA policies, including the support of product claims, risk management and environmental awareness.
- To interface with other internal and external functions in support of project delivery (e.g.: marketing, supply chain, supply management, packaging GDC, other RDC functions).
- To manage and deliver their own agreed workplan.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree from Sciences background (like: Pharma / chemical engineers / chemistry / any relevant)
- Years of experience: 5+ Years of experience in Personal Care / factory environment/FMCG
- Preferred experience in Deos category and formats (aerosols, roll-ons, sticks, emulsions)
- SAP knowledge is a great advantage.

Skills
Evaluation: Must have training and/or significant experience in one or more categories as a technical lead. Ideally some level of TPL training and experience working in PC categories.
Leadership skills: This job requires to work in a multi-stakeholder business environment and needs to be assertive in order to lead the function and collaborative for faster decision making.
Interdependent: work within a network and freedom within a framework context. Collaborate with other evaluators cross the company to deliver the best innovation options for the business.
Bias for action: the attitude to get things done and to be entrepreneurial and where needed to set up new systems
