PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Customer Strategy & Planning (CSP) Lead (d/f/m) plays a crucial role in driving brand penetration and profitable sales volume with customers. This position is responsible for ensuring that marketing plans align with channel, customer, and shopper needs to maximize benefits for both Unilever and its customers. The CSP Lead focuses on trade marketing efficiency and effectiveness while continually seeking growth opportunities.The CSP Lead is the voice of the customer and the shopper in the business unit.The role is responsible for ensuring channel and customer insights are incorporated in the development of brand and category plans and building execution against those plans in the context of retailer strategy
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
Lead in-market plan execution (aligned to business unitstrategy) & Dynamic Resource Allocation
LocalisesCategory Growth Strategy
Executes strategically aligned commercial plan in-market
Decides channel/customer prioritisation in-market and deploys budget accordingly
Leads core capabilities and objective customer engagement (Catman/Shopper /NRM)
Design for Channel(D4C) / Design for Retail (D4R): executes locally and integrates channel & customer upstream into business unit
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Category Growth Strategies (CGS)
Localise (develop and deploy) CGS at channel and customer level
Work closely with Marketing, Strategy & Insights, CMI, Finance, Supply to build customer sell-in
Innovation
Define national innovation & launch plan to channels/customers.
D4C (Design 4 Channel): executes locally and integrates upstream into Business Unit
Targets and Budgets
Allocate USG targets and investment to deliver business group strategy by channel and customer
Define budgets by channel and customer to deliver Underlying Operating Margin (UOM) target from business unit
Pricing and promotions
Own pricing & promostrategy.
Lead monthly forecasting process and report and own pricing & promotions Mix
NRM: Ownership of promotion management and trade spend
Execution
Deploy strategically aligned commercial plan in-market via customer business developmentdeploy launch plans to channels/customers to ensure strength of execution
Define channel / Customer Execution: (Share of Shelf, Total Distribution Points, Value of Deal)
Shopper / Digital Marketing
Capability
Deploy core capabilities required to win by channel and customer.
Catman / Shopper / NRM
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & KEY COMPETENCIES
Several years in similar roles (different channels, customers); FMCG background beneficial
Understanding of category strategies; local marketing background beneficial.
The CSP Lead shows leadership and the ability to focus on big picture, preparing the business for future challenges (vs. managing the status quo)
