We are looking for a fixed-term (12 months) Category and Execution Manager to join our Out of Home team in Finland!
The Magnum Ice Cream Company has been recognized for building whole new ice cream segments and driving the category forward working at the same time in the most competitive Ice Cream environment in Nordics. Our responsibility is to deliver best-in-class category strategy to grow Ice Cream market in Finland together with our customers. In the fast paced highly seasonal Out of Home Ice Cream business the role of execution is especially crucial in delivering sales results and ensuring good customer satisfaction.
Applying to this role, you will be an integral part in leading the Out of Home sales team to deliver strong growth through perfect execution of the ice cream season. You will be accountable for gaining insights and category understanding that enables us to drive category development in our strategic channels and support our customers in growing their ice cream business.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
In this role, you will lead and track the execution plan that aims at delivering strong sales growth in our out of home business. You will be accountable for driving category development in the out of home channel. We work agile implying that we need continuously to challenge ourselves: evaluate category activities, be on top of recent category trends as well as our customers expectations and strategies to be able to adjust our action plan for the best performance.
In a nutshell you will more specifically:
- Lead the Out of Home sales team and as line manager support the key account managers and sales support team lead in delivering a strong ice cream season while supporting their continuous personal development
- Utilise the category growth model to develop category understanding and provide actionable customer/channel tailored insights with our customers to drive category growth.
- Partner closely with CMI and customer analytic teams to identify appropriate insights to drive growth. Utilize and understand multiple data sources availble (e.g. Nielsen HH pannel, market demographic data, loyalty data and systems, KANTAR data as widely used on EU level). Part of responsibility is regular update on market performance in the out of home channel for the broader team to support quality discussions about strategy and short term execution.
- Truly understand local shopper & consumer and the different Out of Home channels to feed insights and recommendations into innovation & promotional plans, Joint Business Plan building, and price positioning. Support in evaluation of business opportunities.
- Together with marketing develop future fit portfolio allowing to maximize our sales and category growth in the out of home channel. Coordinating the process of launching new products to customers by adapting trade stories and trade presentations to local conditions and needs and delivering key category/customer reporting and ad hoc analysis as required.
- Bring world leading expertise to support sales team in best in class category execution: planogram & listings recommendations, Strategic pricing recommendations, integrated 360 communication plan (together with marketing activation manager).
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
We believe the right person for this role has some years of professional experience from the FMCG industry in sales or category management roles. Previous experience from working with the foodservice / out of home industry and line manager/team lead skills is a plus, natural curiosity and willingness to learend and develop is critical!
- You have strong communication and people skills as you will be leading a team, and also need to be able to express analytics to various levels in the organization; as well as the ability to deliver presentations and training.
- Technical skills enabling your daily work are Microsoft Office (Excel, Power point) overall data literacy to ensure quick learnings in Power BI and specific data bases we may have. Curiosity in utilizing AI in your work is a plus.
- The ideal candidate is positive, growth driven, self-going and proactive. You should be able to structure your work and the work of others, with several different tasks and processes simultaneously. Tracking and maintaining clarity of KPIs is vital in delivering perfect season execution. High resilience and positive attitude to changes is the key. Strong sense of humor would be a big plus😊!
Please note that fluency in Finnish and English is needed for this role.

As publicly announced, Unilever will separate its Ice Cream business which is expected by the end of 2025. This role will transfer to the new Ice Cream company.
