CATEGORY INTRODUCTION:
Pakistan’s Beauty and Wellbeing is a €225m business and commands the market leadership position in Hair Care. It operates with 6 strong brands (Dove, Sunsilk, GAL, Ponds, Tresemme and Lifebuoy), 4 of which are power brands for Unilever globally. With its large consumer base and strong market position, B&W Pakistan is the 2nd biggest market in PTAB region and holds clear strategic importance for the region
JOB PURPOSE:
The AM CMI works closely with the BU marketing team and plays a critical role in driving the team's understanding of consumer behavior, market trends, and competitive dynamics. This role is pivotal in informing strategic decisions, enhancing product development, and optimizing marketing strategies to better meet consumer needs and preferences.This role involves translating business strategy into actionable insights led marketing and commercial plans for outcomes, while championing a digital-first, social-first approach to brand building and consumer engagement.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE:
Primary responsibility will be to harness consumer and market insights to shape strategies that elevate brand superiority. You will be instrumental in creating brands that are unmissable, ensuring they stand out in the market and drive sustainable growth.
You will be responsible for the identification and translation of consumer, customer, market and channel needs & desires, multi-source insights and behaviors to guide the brand crafting strategy, innovation and portfolio, digital marketing and commerce, channel & shopper insights as well as drive performance and insights to drive growth.
Understand the B&W categories and the bigger universe of category we operate in, customers and channels, the key business objectives and challenges, and be able to set relevant research programs to deliver against business objectives.
Implement the insights in line with best practices and ensure that all research work is actionable and strategically aligned; this includes all practical aspects of insights end to end.
Brand Crafting: lead comms research programs for all brands in the portfolio.
Shopper & Channel: drive consistent shopper understanding in country
Bringing Outside in: Continiouslygather and integrate the voice of the consumer along with the news from the market and competitors to ensure competitive intelligence is also core part of our strategy.
Strategic Influence: Collaborate across functions to ensure insights are effectively translated into actionable strategies. Present insights and strategic recommendations to B&W BU Leadership Team to guide strategy and product positioning. Influence long-term brand strategies through deep consumer understanding and market analysis.
Spearhead competitive growth for B&W Pakistan:Identify hotspots, issues and opportunities across all cells. Champion insights into action on all things relating to portfolio, innovation and deployment. Synthesize data from diverse sources to provide clear, strategic insights that drive business decisions.
Foresights and Innovation: Provide intelligence to shape and future proof our businesses by identifying any emerging trends and by Identifying broader common themes and Insights on consumer & customer pain points or aspirations (needs & wants) across categories and local regions.
Stakeholder Engagement:Collaborate with internal stakeholders across different functions to ensure alignment and integration of insights into business processes. Manage relationships with external research agencies, ensuring quality of output, adherence to timelines, and budget management.
Technology and Innovation:Drive the adoption of new technologies and analytical tools to enhance the capabilities of the CMI department. Stay abreast of advancements in consumer research techniques, and artificial intelligence to keep Unilever ahead in insight generation.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
Demonstrated CMI expertise (Market Research and brand experience is preferred)
Proven ability to build strong partnerships with stakeholders, communicate effectively, and deliver onobjectives.
Experience in leading cross-functional projects and media/communication insight research.
Strong analytical mindset, capability in managing multiple projects, and ability to prioritize workload.
Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, product development, finance, and creative agencies, to achieve shared goals.
Ability to collaborate seamlessly & lead across agency partners and internal Unilever teams
Skills
Analytically minded and numerically oriented.
Good understanding of market research with an ability to think strategically – ability to design, develop and land research with impact.
Strategic thinking and the ability to synthesize diverse data sources into actionable insights.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
