JOB PURPOSE:
The Maintenance Planning Engineer is responsible for developing and optimizing preventive maintenance strategies, leading planning & scheduling efforts, and improving equipment reliability to support sustainable production. This role bridges engineering excellence with operational needs, ensuring maintenance activities are executed effectively, cost-efficiently, and in alignment with safety and quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create, manage, and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
- Develop daily, weekly, and shutdown maintenance schedules with cross-functional alignment.
- Analyze equipment breakdowns and conduct root cause analyses (RCA).
- Track and control maintenance KPIs (MTTR, MTBF, OEE) and continuously drive improvement.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and third-party service providers to ensure high uptime.
- Manage spare part inventory planning and ensure SAP/CMMS systems are kept up to date.
- Support TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) initiatives, particularly under PM Pillar.
- Lead or participate in maintenance-related cost-saving and digitalization projects.
- Ensure maintenance compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
SKILLS:
- Maintenance Expertise: Preventive & predictive maintenance, root cause analysis (RCA), reliability improvement, maintenance cost control
- Digital Tools: Hands-on knowledge of SAP PM, CMMS tools (e.g. Boysweb, DFOS), Excel-based reporting and KPI monitoring
- TPM & Lean Understanding: Good understanding of TPM (especially PM Pillar), 5S, Kaizen, and structured problem solving
- Planning & Prioritization: Strong capability in workload planning, resource allocation, and proactive issue management
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret technical data, downtime trends, and maintenance performance metrics
- Communication & Collaboration: Skilled in working with cross-functional teams (production, quality, external suppliers) and reporting to management
- Leadership & Ownership: Takes initiative, follows up with discipline, and can lead small improvement projects with limited supervision
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in dynamic factory environments with varying levels of ambiguity
EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Working knowledge in FMCG/Manufacturing environments is a strong plus.
- 1–3 years of experience in maintenance planning, budgeting, and optimization.
- Solid management, leadership, decision making and influential skills and experience is critical
- Familiarity with root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with CMMS systems (e.g. SAP PM, Boysweb, DFOS).
- Strong communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, make decisions, and lead improvement initiatives.Proven track record of implementing improvement ideas.
- Must have in-depth working knowledge and experience in maintenance optimization and cost saving.
- Solid understanding of TPM, particularly PM Pillar and Lean tools is desirable.
- Fluent in Turkish; intermediate English required.
