The Senior Project Engineer position will manage the end-to-end delivery of the category technology and capital investment projects for the Unilever Dressing Factory in Rexdale, Toronto Region. The capital and category projects will span a range of complexity, cost ($100k to $4m), and disciplines based on the needs of factory and the skills of the engineer. These include innovation, process, utilities, packaging, safety, quality, infrastructure, savings, environmental and logistics. This role reports to Engineering & Maintenance Manager at the Rexdale Site.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
- Ensure Excellence: Deliver projects with a strong focus on safety, product quality, project timing, and cost efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Manage and coordinate both full-time staff and hired contractors to successfully execute projects.
- Project Oversight: Lead the portfolio of projects and trials at the Rexdale site, ensuring seamless execution and innovation.
- Factory Representation: Act as the key liaison to external teams, including R&D, brand, procurement, and suppliers, fostering strong collaborative relationships.
- Engineering Expertise: Apply your skills in Dressing Process and Packaging Engineering to drive world-class manufacturing capabilities.
- Innovation and Quality: Provide Unilever with top-tier capability to launch and manufacture Dressing products, setting new standards in the industry.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Experience, Qualifications and Skills
- BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical degree.
- 5+ Years of Engineering in FMCG / foods / related Industry or gained in an engineering consultancy environment
- Project Management, maintenance, and/or continuous improvement experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; along with the ability to negotiate.
- First-hand experience delivering major capital projects ($2+ million) within Unilever or similar fast-moving consumer goods or foods manufacturing environment from cradle to grave.
- Experience in World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), Lean manufacturing, and/or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a plus.
