We are looking for a Receiver at our Ice Cream Manufacturing factory in Simcoe, Ontario. Our factory produces brand names such as Breyers, Ben & Jerry's, Magnum, Klondike and Popsicle.
In this position you will perform warehouse work related to the receipt, shipment and storage of finished goods and frozen inclusions.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
- Responsible for following Unilever safety, health, and environment (SHE) regulations.
- Utilize basic computer skills to maintain necessary files and documentation related to the shipment and receipt of materials.
- Operate a hand truck, forklift, or pallet jack to move raw materials and finished goods to and from warehousing areas, and outbound or inbound transportation vehicles.
- Store raw materials and finished product in appropriate warehouse areas, following both FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation and Allergen Storage Regulations.
- Under limited supervision, carries out various shipping and/or receiving activities such as;
- Checking goods against shipping documents; understanding transportation methods and routes; verifying identification and quality of product and loading shipments.
- Unloading goods, checking against bills of lading, packing slips, etc.,
- Verifying rejects, damaged/misdirected goods and stores goods in appropriate locations.
- Perform cycle counts and reconciliation of raw materials and finished product on a weekly basis per pre-defined schedule.
- Read and comprehend work instructions and performs daily safety inspection of forklift and other associated equipment.
- Frequently lifts or moves up to 50 pounds and in excess of 50 pounds with the aid of lifting assistance; regularly stands and walks.
- Actively participate in improvement activities (One-Point-Lessons, 5 Smart [5S - Smart pricing, Smart mix, Smart product platforms, Smart sourcing, Smart buying and partnering]).
- May work in areas where temperatures vary greatly.
- Responsible for performing housekeeping duties.
- Perform other related work as required.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
- Education - High School Diploma or GED (General Educational Development) equivalent
- Must read and comprehend written specifications in the English language
- Ability to get forklift certified
- 2+ years warehouse experience
- Inbound and outbound dispatching,
- integrated inventory management,
- computer generated documentation, as well as experience in count reconciliation, and data input as applied to computerized inventory systems.
