JOB PURPOSE

As the CSI Lead for Foods Philippines, you will be the strategic architect behind category growth, shopper engagement, and channel development across all retail environments. You will lead a team of category and shopper marketing professionals to deliver insights-driven strategies that shape the future of Unilever’s Foods portfolio, including iconic brands like Lady’s Choice, Best Foods, and Knorr. This role is pivotal in translating consumer and shopper insights into actionable commercial plans that drive sustainable growth and competitive advantage.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

1. Strategic Leadership & Category Vision

  • Lead the development of the total Foods category strategy across core, future, and emerging channels.
  • Define and cascade the category vision, growth drivers, and execution principles across the business.
  • Champion a category-first mindset in all commercial planning and customer engagements.

2. Insights & Analytics

  • Oversee the generation and application of shopper, consumer, and channel insights to inform strategy.
  • Guide the team in leveraging data analytics, market research, and performance tracking tools.
  • Translate insights into compelling narratives that influence internal and external stakeholders.

3. Channel & Customer Strategy

  • Drive differentiated strategies for traditional trade, modern trade, eCommerce, and proximity channels.
  • Partner with Customer Development and Marketing to co-create customer-specific growth plans.
  • Lead the development of channel execution models and route-to-market strategies.

4. Shopper Marketing & Activation

  • Oversee the design and execution of shopper marketing programs, including in-store activations, CRM, and seasonal campaigns.
  • Ensure alignment of shopper marketing initiatives with brand and customer strategies.
  • Monitor effectiveness and ROI of activations to continuously optimize performance.

5. Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Category Strategy Managers and Shopper Marketing professionals.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, agility, and continuous learning.
  • Build organizational capability in insights, storytelling, and commercial strategy.

Experiences & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Category Management, Trade Marketing, Shopper Insights, or Sales Strategy, preferably in FMCG.
  • Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and complex projects.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of the Philippine retail landscape, including digital and emerging channels.
  • Must be amenable for a fixed term contract for 6 months
