The Wellbeing Collective is seeking a passionate and driven Sensory Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sensory science and a keen interest in health and wellbeing. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement sensory evaluation protocols, analyze data, and provide insights to support product development and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the sensory manager with the delivery of global sensory projects.
Work closely with op-cos and the global sensory team to ensure good coordination of projects.
Plan and conduct consumer preference and acceptance tests to gather feedback on products from target demographics.
Recruit, train, and manage sensory panels, ensuring panelists are qualified and capable of providing reliable data.
Conduct regular training sessions to maintain panelist performance and calibration.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing sensory findings and recommendations.
Collaborate with market research teams to integrate sensory insights with consumer behavior and trends.
Maintain accurate records of sensory evaluations, methodologies, and results.
Ensure that all sensory evaluations comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Design and conduct sensory evaluation studies to assess the sensory attributes of new and existing products.
Develop and validate sensory methodologies and protocols.
Analyze sensory data and provide actionable insights to support product development and optimization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D product development, marketing, and consumer insights, to ensure sensory insights are integrated into product development processes.
Assist in the creation of prototypes and the selection of ingredients to enhance sensory appeal.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in sensory science and apply new techniques and methodologies to enhance sensory evaluation capabilities.
Communicate sensory findings and recommendations to stakeholders through reports and presentations.
Qualifications:
Sensory Science Background with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field, preference for Sensory/Consumer Science focus
Minimum of 2 years of experience in sensory evaluation or a related field.
Strong analytical skills and experience with sensory data analysis software.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Pay: The pay range for this position is $67,000 to $100,500 Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs. Bonus: This position is bonus eligible. Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible. Benefits: Unilever employees are eligible to participate in our benefits plan.
