Customer Strategy & Planning Lead
JOB DESCRIPTION
Customer Strategy & Planning is a function under Marketing & Customer Strategy Planning department. We work closely with the marketing team to ensure that marketing plans fit with channel, customer and shoppers’ needs in order to maximize the benefit for Unilever and our Customers.
A Customer Strategy & Planning (CSP) Lead drives increased brand penetration and profitable sales volume with the customer. The job holder is responsible for driving trade marketing efficiency and effectiveness while continually looking for growth opportunities. The CSP Lead identifies all Brand, Market, and Customer business opportunities and risks through communication with the customer development organization (field sales). The CSP Lead maximizes the return on Unilever’s trade spends.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Bring brands to life in store with trade marketing plans – Synergize/translate brand strategic directions and category marketing plans to customer/channel opportunities.
- Identify trade spend opportunities and allocate funds based on priority and business needs.
- Work jointly with brand managers to match brands’ strategic objectives with customer/ market needs, analyze competition and market landscape.
- Workly closely with channel team in developing the category-channel strategy, shopper promotion and POSM alignment.
- Ensure brand volume and value growth using the 6Ps in prioritized channels and customers, mainly influencing the price, pack and place.
- Effectively communicate with the CD team to ensure brand trade activities land perfectly in the market. Incorporate CD’s input into S&OP and own S&OP output, manage and drive CD business performance in short term and long term. Lead sales gap-closure activities and optimization.
- Champion the Net Revenue Management agenda with strong analysis, strategy and execution.
- Manage holistic customer/ channel investment (shopper marketing, trade marketing, in-store).
- DEVELOPMENT: Customer/Channel Marketing Activities, Merchandising Planning, Budgets, Channel/Category Communication
- OPERATIONS: Brand/ Sales Diagnostics: Trends, Gaps, Opportunities, Issues, Trade Tactics, Lead Product Rundowns, Documentation
Desired Skills & Experience:
- 4-5 years of experience in category management/ channel/ trade marketing, preferrable within FMCG industry.
- Ability to work with people across various functions and levels.
- Strong analytical skills, organizational skills and business mind set.
- Strong in leadership and ability to coach a team.
- Proactive, confident, initiative and able to work with multiple priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, particularly working skill in Excel. Power bi knowledge will be an advantage.
